Our services are considered “Out of Network” since we are not on an Insurance Panels. Insurance companies require a “Mental Health Diagnosis” which becomes part of your permanent medical record. If it difficult to know how this may impact a person since laws and healthcare companies change policies over time. Some potential challenges may include difficulties obtaining Life Insurance, Health Insurance, and Disability Insurance in the future or having to pay higher premiums because of diagnoses. Please contact your provider to get clarification on your specific situation.

If you decide to utilize your insurance, counseling may be covered in part if you have a PPO insurance plan. In such cases, we would provide you with a billing statement (after payment for services is made to Stoneridge Counseling Services). You would then submit that claim to your insurance carrier for partial reimbursement based on your specific health plan. You can check your coverage by calling your insurer and asking the following questions:

• Do I have mental health insurance benefits? 

• Does it cover Couples Therapy? (If that is the service you are seeking)

• Does my insurance allow for "out of network" provider?

• What is my deductible and has it been met?

• How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

• What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

• Is approval required from my primary care physician?
